A server operating system, such as Windows Server or Linux, acts as the platform that enables applications to run. The operating system provides applications access to the hardware resources that they need and enables network connectivity. The application is what enables the server to do its job.
Types of Server System: Database servers, print servers, mail servers, file servers, application servers, web servers, and game servers are a few examples of servers. The request-response paradigm, in which a client submits a request to the server, is the one used to create client-server systems most frequently.
For example, a Web server is a computer that uses the HTTP protocol to send Web pages to a client’s computer when the client requests them.
